There is a group of people in our world that we often overlook and ignore. It’s not that we are blind; they are everywhere, and we can indeed see them. This group primarily consists of children who rely on the support of those stronger than themselves. Their vulnerabilities are not just due to their underdeveloped brains or motor skills; they are heavily reliant on people like you and me for care and assistance.
Every day, we wake up to hear devastating news concerning children—parents passing away and leaving their children behind, often with no one willing or able to care for them. At Our Children’s Home International, we welcome children whose parents have died, leaving them alone and unsupported. Each child’s story is interconnected, highlighting how our experiences share more similarities than differences.
These children lost their parents when they were still too young to care for themselves. They are unable to take on the roles and responsibilities of a parent, including providing for their most basic needs: education, clothing, moral guidance, and spiritual support. They are unprepared for the physical, emotional, and psychological lessons that shape their lives.
